I like grils.
Hey, Crash,
Funny thing is, I figured that if he was going to ask about women, I thought we could give him advice about actual women in the 21st century, not mythical sexist female ideals. But maybe that's just me?
Semantics. Females of the species can be girls or, if they have developed enough, women. Under the spiritual ontological model that I use, the species is a symbiotic union. In which case, "actual women" are exactly all that I was talking about, most human females remaining "girls" or spiritually undeveloped or immature. Or worse.
Personally I try to ignore advice from people who's model of interpersonal relationships ascribes behavior to demon possession.
Just a kindly warning. The conscious act to ignore leaves one vulnerable to the state called ignorant. Disregard would perhaps be a better descriptor?
As for me, I remain satisfied if I am understood, believing as I do that agreement is a choice. My neighbor, including you, is loved, if they understand what they choose not to believe.
Peace,
S.

Be that as is may, women like that aren't going to take kindly to the idea that they need their daddy's permission to date, especially if they don't live at home, which, in the year 2004, is likely. You know, with women going to college and having jobs and all. Or maybe you thought women just sat around at their homes still, waiting for suitors, like in the old days?
Trying to get to know their dad as a precursor to romantic approach is useless advice in a world where women live on their own.

As a young woman who lives on her own.....
What he's suggesting works well in some circles and not well at all in others. In strong Christian families it's almost becoming seen as a necessity again after years of it being looked down upon.
I have a very good friend who lives thousands of miles from home and wishes her Dad was closer because she would really like to have access to his wisdom and protection when dealing with men. In Christian families, a lot of young women want the counsel of their Father's because they recognize the Godly authority and also realize that emotion can initially blind us to many things.
This isn't always the case. I couldn't care less if the guy talked to my Dad or not. In fact I might find it weird. It all depends on the woman and the family dynamics.

Yeah, but who'd want to date them? You couldn't go to any good movies, or any good concerts, you couldn't pull over and make out...
If I have to talk to your dad before I can talk to you, why bother? There's many more reasonable women for me to pay attention to.

I agree. Are those the kinds of women that the guy wanted to date? I sure don't think so, based on his statements. But Stephen apparently makes no allowances for individual family situation.

I feel like I'm a demon myself...
Why do you say this? Do you have some 'inner demons' that you are wrestling with? Are you active in the occult in any way?

Pinky, look at the kind of posts that Crash makes. The kind of thinking he does. Do you really think for a minute he would give any credance whatsoever to the occult. Really now!

My question was directed to SA-XHBK from message #8, not to Crashfrog. I haven't seen anything of Crashfrog to even warrant a question like this to him. I do suspect that SA-XHBK has an occult leaning but thought I would ask to be certain.
