Re: The Bombshell of Revelation
I am Nemesis Juggernaut.
I had actually thought that was very likely the case (because I knew NJ's original email address). I didn't want to say anything in case I was wrong and it caused you to incorrectly inherit the crap.
I checked the IPs - saw no match and decided to watch. You do realize you've broken the forum rules, yes?

Re: Grammatical Perspective
On one hand you say that NJ's homophobic vitriol was so obvious and blatant that only an imbecile could fail to see it.
On the other hand you are citing subtle but dastardly misuse of a pronoun as an example of his wily ways, telling us that his police training enabled him to cleverly imply and insult under the radar of normal comprehension and asserting that unless we are familiar with his entire posting history we cannot possibly grasp the extent of his homophobic hate mongering.
These two positions do not add up.
I never intended to embroil myself to this extent. So I will leave it at that and you can have the last word if you so wish.
My opinion for what it is worth is that you, and no doubt others on both sides of this argument, are just incapable of any perspective on this issue.
In this case, it appears that despite the fact that NJ was at the center of a substantial degree of controversy - his car was literally bristling with sucky darts - it appears that they determined he was not "one of the idiots" because NJ told them he was not, and NJ was a moderator.
They closed ranks around one of their own.
This is a highly subjective and in my view very inaccurate portrayal of past events.
Good to see you back BTW

Re: The Bombshell of Revelation
"I'm a recovering Christian" - Hyro
"Obvious a mile away from those in similar circumstances" - Cave
Here's the fun bit
Initially I thought you were a Christian troll - despite your claims that you weren't, too many phrases, nuances, and biases were blatently evangelical in origin - but even more so, you reminded me so much of NJ. Not that I thought you were NJ, but the similarity was enough for me to know that there was more to you than the non-theist you were presenting...
Welcome back

Re: The Bombshell of Revelation
So, I did have the pleasure to converse with you.
Well, in all this time you haven't struck me as someone who would do the things you are accused of here.
So, either you've changed, or they're wrong.

Re: The Bombshell of Revelation
I had actually thought that was very likely the case (because I knew NJ's original email address). I didn't want to say anything in case I was wrong and it caused you to incorrectly inherit the crap.
I was waiting for someone to pick up on that! I had suspected you and/or Percy have known for some time (or at least suspected) but kept it under wraps.
I checked the IPs - saw no match and decided to watch. You do realize you've broken the forum rules, yes?
Yes, yes I do. And if you the hammer of God needs to strike down on me, I will accept whatever fate is given. Just bear in mind that I didn't have to reveal myself. There are a few reasons I did
1. When I was going to come back, my Nemmy account was closed.
2. I had changed, and in a sense, didn't Nem die when Hyro was born? I'm obviously the same person, but my views are very different now.
So now I must clear the air. I legitimately was away from the forum twice, each time for about 8 months at a time. What can I say, my philosophies have evolved, much to the pleasure of many I'm sure.
To be perfectly honest, the biggest reason I didn't say anything was not because I was afraid of what my former detractos would think of me, but for the sake of Buzsaw. And Buz, if you're out there watching, it's you I want to apologize to more than anyone.
As a former Christian, I know it hurts to see your friends fall off the beaten path. I didn't want you to see me in my apostate condition, so, like the story of Jonah, I tried to hide from God (only in this case, I tried to hide from you). I remember that you were very fond of me and I feel like I am letting you down. So, I am sorry, 'ole buddy. It was pains me as I type this.
Along the way I have left several hints. For instance, when Crash came back a few months ago to explain his absence, I left an image of the same artist who rendered the drawing of my former Admin avatar. I thought for sure he would have picked up on it. (I'm too lazy to go link it now, but feel free to go to that thread to corroborate it).
Likewise, Oni asked me how I knew so much about EvC's past. I can't quite remember what I said, but they were big hints to anyone paying attention.
Plus my mannerisms and writing-style gives me away, along with how do my quotes. It's fairly unique.
Of course I wanted to tell you all, and almost have on so many occasions. But it was the thought of breaking Buzsaw's heart that has kept me incognito for so long.
No doubt Crash will use this measure of dishonesty to prove that I am capable of being diabolically clever. That was a reason not to come out of the shadows, but you know what? I stand by everything that's been said, then and now.
It's the truth that I have NEVER compared homosexuals (whom I have no objections too whatsoever these days, I'm pleased to report) to pedophiles, incest, polygamy, zoophiles, yada, yada. The evidence is all documented, and it seems that I have been vindicated by people who didn't like my former self.
Any other questions you might have, feel free to ask.

Yeah, I'm fairly convinced the only reason people never knew was because it was such a large philosophical departure of my former self.
Welcome back
I don't know if NJ will ever come back, but he and Hyro do share the same birth name.

Yeah, well I had to differentiate myself in the marketplace - and as consulting is always expensive, the only real option was to be *super* expensive. And if you're paying THAT much for your consulting, just imagine how good it must be!

It sounds a bit odd but are 'congratulations' in order for the murder of NJ? If I had one real question it would be simply to ask how the evolution of your beliefs changed over time since we last saw NJ.
Edited by Modulous, : No reason given.

Re: The Bombshell of Revelation
Well, in all this time you haven't struck me as someone who would do the things you are accused of here.
So, either you've changed, or they're wrong.
Well, I was homophobic and a bit of a doucher. I didn't like the idea of homosexuality because my God didn't like it. But I didn't hide that fact. And I believed that they were in sin and couldn't see the light. Turns out that it was me who couldn't see the light.
But I meant then, as much as I do now, that I never hated them. That is the honest truth. And back then it was very much about my fascination for absolutes vs relativism. You, Straggler, CS, Modulous, Cavediver, etc, having accurately understood what I said back then.
So when I saw Crash in here slandering the 'ole Nemmy Juggs, I decided to defend something I know damn well was not true.
I mean, didn't anyone wonder why someone who was allegedly not here for the old days had such a vested interest in defending someone he never met?!?!?!
It's not that I defend my former self or my former beliefs. I am defending the sincerity of my former self. What you saw as NJ was the truth, not some clever Jedi mind trick. Crash inadvertantly gave me wayyyy more credit than I was worth.

Well, how about that! So, the "them" you used was indeed referring to homosexuals in general and not Taz, Dan, Crash and Berb. I rock!

Re: The Bombshell of Revelation
I think an exception can be made given the circumstances. Though Percy might want to talk to you about merging the accounts or something.
I have no objections to that Perhaps he will give me leniency for admitting my crimes.
I totally missed that one - I'd like to see it
You know what, I deleted it. I think it was too obvious so I edited it. I've been looking for the image on the net and can't find it. Remember my old AdminNem avatar? That was essentially embedded in the image.
If I had one real question it would be simply to ask how the evolution of your beliefs changed over time since we last saw NJ.
I couldn't pinpoint any one thing, because as it is with evolution or watching your fingernails grow, imperceptibly small changes lead to the big picture one step at a time.
Suffice it to say that there have been some personal reasons that lead to the doubting. I felt abandoned a lot of the time, and the more I delved in to the bible, the more apparent the folly of it was. When you pray with sincerity, over and over and over and over again, yet you're told, "ask, and you shall recieve," "knock and the door will open to you," and you didn't recieve, and the door didn't open, well, it's a terrible feeling.
The part that really fucks with my head is that before I joined the forum I had what seems to be a genuine experience with God. To this day I can't say if it was real or if I had wanted it to be real.
Really all I have done is gone back to my former-former self. I started my journey as an agnostic, and now I've come full circle. I await instructions from the Mothership, which may not be there at all.
