Both women were perfectly happy with their half of the baby
Don't you have that a bit mixed up?
As I recall the real mother agreed to let the other woman have the whole baby rather than cut it in half.
Maybe by the same token, anyone who really cares about the artifact would allow others to analyze it.
Most universities have a policy whereby they would analyze the samples for free provided they get to collaborate on a research paper about them.
My lab is unfortunately not set up for radio-carbon dating but we could easily perform a very complete material analysis of this or any other artifact, using our range of mass spectrometers and nuclear activation analysis techniques.
We have a policy of working very cheaply for any research projects and completely free if we get to colaborate on any research papers generated from our results.

No, you're wrong. God gave Solomon wisdom above all wisdom. And the wisest thing to do at the time was to make a compromise. Both women claimed to be the mother of the child. The obvious compromise was to cut the child in half and give each woman the half child. Both women were more than happy for their fair share.
God also gave the founders of our country the wisdom to compromise. One example of this great wisdom was the 3/5 compromise.

In this situation, the best thing to do is compromise. We cut the bones up to pieces and hand them to the people who want them. Everyone gets a fair share.

Not according to this I'm not.
1 Kings 3 CEV - The Lord Makes Solomon Wise -(2 - Bible Gateway
quote:
16One day two women [e] came to King Solomon, 17and one of them said: Your Majesty, this woman and I live in the same house. Not long ago my baby was born at home, 18and three days later her baby was born. Nobody else was there with us.
19One night while we were all asleep, she rolled over on her baby, and he died. 20Then while I was still asleep, she got up and took my son out of my bed. She put him in her bed, then she put her dead baby next to me.
21In the morning when I got up to feed my son, I saw that he was dead. But when I looked at him in the light, I knew he wasn't my son.
22"No!" the other woman shouted. "He was your son. My baby is alive!"
"The dead baby is yours," the first woman yelled. "Mine is alive!"
They argued back and forth in front of Solomon, 23until finally he said, "Both of you say this live baby is yours. 24Someone bring me a sword."
A sword was brought, and Solomon ordered, 25"Cut the baby in half! That way each of you can have part of him."
26"Please don't kill my son," the baby's mother screamed. "Your Majesty, I love him very much, but give him to her. Just don't kill him."
The other woman shouted, "Go ahead and cut him in half. Then neither of us will have the baby."
27Solomon said, "Don't kill the baby." Then he pointed to the first woman, "She is his real mother. Give the baby to her."
28Everyone in Israel was amazed when they heard how Solomon had made his decision. They realized that God had given him wisdom to judge fairly.
the whole point was that Solomon had enough wisdom to know that the true mother would never allow her child to be cut in half but would rather the baby lived and went to the other woman.

LOL
Ok, sorry if that wasn't obvious. I meant it as a joke. I think the story about Solomon wanting to see who the real mother was is well known enough that people would see my joke. Then of course you could also consider me a sociopathic monster that would actually believe cutting a kid in half is wise It's like 'A Modest Proposal' by Swift. You could either assume he was a monster for suggesting supermarketing little kids or you could take it as a satire.

That's ok. It's not like we're taking up valuable space in a very popular and active thread. LOL

I dont know who the bones actualy belong to,but i think everyone should have access to them. The reason the piltdown hoax continued for forty years was because scientist only had access to plaster reproductuions that didnt show the file marks found on the original.
