How do you define evolution? I ask you to post your definition of evolution.
Why? Because over and over I see arguments based on differing opinions of the words. If we lack a common definition, we can scarcely be successful in our discussions. I suspect the evolution is one of those key words that evoke many different concepts in the minds of the readers and writers. With this thread, we may be able to see and understand some of those differences.
First, I ask that all definitions be less than 90 words in total. Keep it short, clear, and to the point. No justifications, no rationales, no references. Don’t go look it up then write what you read in your own words. Just post your concise opinion. Note that for reference, this paragraph, including these last sentences, contains 90 words as counted by Microsoft Word. I have added a little extra BS just to get this close to the exact value so we will have an easy reference. Three more words.
Second, for the first five days, post only if you adamantly oppose the concept of evolution. Don’t say why you oppose, just define evolution. To those who disagree, please do not post in opposition, just read and think.
Third, reserve the second five days to those who agree with some or most of the concepts of evolution, but not in what I might call “pure” evolution. Post if you believe that there is or has been something working that is outside of the purview of science. This would be some type of guiding light, a god, advanced alien race, or some other source. Again, do not say why you believe what you do, just post your definition of evolution within the guidelines of my first request.
Fourth, for the third five days, if you believe that “pure” evolution defines how we came to be, then post your definition. Again, keep you post to less than 90 words, your position, and not a reference or reworded reference and not a justification.
Fifth, once you post, please do not edit. Let your first thoughts stand. I hold that those are most likely the thoughts that guide your beliefs and actions. If you want to adjust your position, then reply to your post, but don’t edit.
Sixth, I ask that all self police. But if someone just cannot restrain themselves, can the admins delete posts that violate these requests? Just for the first fifteen days. I know this is asking a lot, but if that possibility looms, then the posts will probably better adhere to the guidelines. If this is more than the admins care to invest and/or it fundamentally violates the concepts of this forum, then so be it and consider this request withdrawn.
Seventh, after the third five days all these restrictions are lifted and we return to standard protocol. Let the discussions begin.
Last, I solicit the input of the admins for advice before moving this into a thread. If you have knowledge from your longer experience that may improve this thread, please advise.

wow, B!
Sounds like a potential thread! Your rules are rather long...can't you shorten this thing up a bit? I defer to my colleagues!

Threads are moderated by the moderators enforcing the Forum Guidelines. Members do not choreograph nor in any way moderate their own threads.
Why don't you try something shorter, like asking whether evolutionists can come up with a single definition of evolution that they all agree with.

Shorter topic
I can shorten the OP to the first three paragraphs ending with the size restriction. Is that what you are asking for or is that a bit draconian?

Re: Shorter topic
Sounds fine. Post a new message to this thread that is as you describe and I'll promote it.

Closing this version down.
