He really picked the wrong spot, one of the Episcopal Churches in DC with a woman Bishop. She has already spoken out against the photo op and we all know how the Orange Menace takes to being laughed at by strong wimmin.

One comment I read was
'You white folk should shut up, We know enough to see the difference between an awkward Allie and and outright racist.
That being said, the reason I never voted for Biden in any of the previous presidential primaries is that he suffers from insert foot in mouth disease, and his awkward comments are nothing new. ON the flip side, Trump seems to delight in fanning flames of hate.

Who’da thought ?
One of Trump’s tweets:
You got it wrong! If the protesters were so peaceful, why did they light the Church on fire the night before? People liked my walk.
It’s all revealed at the end, isn’t it ? Screw George Floyd - screw racism - screw police brutality - this is all about how I look.

Could there be any greater conceit, than for someone to believe that the universe has to be simple enough for them to be able to understand it ?

Trump Declares War On US Citizens
Trump has begun sending American troops in to war against American citizens. In the words of Trump toady and Secretary of Defense Mark T. Esper, the troops must "dominate the battlespace." See Trump wants to crush Black Lives Matter with a law that fought segregation.
Trump was proven amazingly resourceful and creative with demonstrations of power. Like a king from his castle he emerged from the White House Monday night to walk to a church he does not attend and hold up a Bible whose principles he does not hold while government agents attacked peaceful protestors to clear his path and General Barr looked on. It was Nixonian in its grotesqueness.

Law Enforcement in the Time of Trump
New law enforcement personnel are appearing with no apparent identification or affiliation: A dangerous new factor in an uneasy moment: Unidentified law enforcement officers
This can’t be legal, can it?

Re: Law Enforcement in the Time of Trump
Looks like they are Bureau of Prisons or contract forces. Let's privatize police. Wonder if Erick Prince has found a new contract.
Nothing like sucking from the TiT.

There have been some posts in these forums about Trump's potential use of the military to enshrine his power should he not win a second term.
These last two days have seen some extraordinary developments within the military community.
Former Defense Secretary and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. James Mattis published a scathing Op-Ed piece where he took the president to task for abuse of power.
quote:
Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people does not even pretend to try. Instead he tries to divide us. We are witnessing the consequences of three years of this deliberate effort. We are witnessing the consequences of three years without mature leadership.
We can unite without him, drawing on the strengths inherent in our civil society. This will not be easy, as the past few days have shown, but we owe it to our fellow citizens; to past generations that bled to defend our promise; and to our children.
Emphasis mine.
Then there was this from our current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs:
Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman's memo reminds troops of oath to Americans
Note the written date and the side note. This memo was written days, weeks ago and has been held in abeyance probably hoping never to be issued.
I cannot emphasise how powerful this statement is coming from a sitting officer at the top of our military structure. Those who have been in the officer corps and recognize the military-eze in this memo will recognize the set up.
This memo, couched in subtle terms, lays out the justification to refuse to follow command authority orders that the Joint Chiefs find in violation of their oaths. The Joint Chiefs are telling the civilian authority presently in charge that there are limits beyond which the United States Military will not move and those limits deal with "our national values and principles" and to "protect lives and property, preserve peace, and ensure public safety."
The Joint Chiefs have just told the president they will not move against the American People.
This is not a coup and the Chiefs are making no threats of such certainly.
But the Chiefs have put the president and all the military commands on notice that there are limits to civilian leadership of the United States armed forces in this nation.
With everything else that has happened this year this fascist president continues to poison this country's values and principles.
Such a legacy, Donald Trump.

That is, I believe, one of the reasons Barr & DeVos are looking more towards contract police and repurposing police rather than the military.
The Gestapo, Stasi and VoPo were not under the command or authority of the Military but rather Political State creations. And that was what we saw in DC recently. Unidentified Police Force that was NOT under the control of the DC government but rather under the direct control of the State. Look for the hallmarks of Barr, DeVos and Erik Prince.

Trump the wannabe-dictator, part umpteen
Twitter has taken down a Trump campaign video and of course Trump is attacking Twitter and claiming that the action is illegal.
Unfortunately for him that action was required by law. Twitter received a valid DMCA takedown notice and had to obey. If Trump wanted to complain that the DMCA made it too easy to take down videos and wanted reform that might be a good thing. But no, he decides to escalate his vendetta With Twitter regardless of the facts or the law. Even sillier he’s talking about Section 230 even though it isn’t relevant.
Just another sign that Trump is unfit to be President and that the Republican Party should be deeply ashamed of supporting him.

Barr and Trump: Peas in a Pod
Barr lies as much as Trump, and much more sneakily. See Barr's answers to questions about the clearing of Lafayette Square analyzed here: Attorney General Barr’s dishonest defense of the clearing of Lafayette Square
For Barr, gas that causes tears isn't tear gas.
For Barr there were no chemical irritants because, Barr said about pepper, "It's not chemical." I think if you ask any chemist they'll tell you everything's a chemical.
For Barr the crowd was violent, despite that correspondents observed no violence and video shows no violence.
For Barr the clearing of the crowd had nothing to do with Trump's walk to the church, despite that the crowd had to be cleared to make Trump's walk to the church possible.
Trump's lying is more honest because he mostly tells obvious lies. Barr's lying is a lot more subtle and cutesy.

Trump Lies Again
Trump is floating conspiracy theories he's made up himself again, this time about the 75-year old man Buffalo police pushed to the ground then left lying and bleeding:
Martin Gugino remains in the hospital in serious condition. Here's a video of the push:
The concern of the police for the man they just injured is touching. 57 Buffalo police officers resigned in protest when two officers were suspended, perhaps unwittingly giving a head start to any reallocation of resources for city services (referred to in shorthand as "defund the police").
