Here's a dilemma for you.
I heard last week that a T-REX bone was found with live blood cells. Scientists from Montana State University made the discovery. If this is true , then how can it be "millions of years old" ?

Do you have a link to this?
I just did a search using the search agent program Copernic 2001 (Searches many search engines at once) and all I could find about this was from creationist's sites. So, I doubt the validity of this claim.

"Live" blood cells? I'm sorry but it can't be ten hours old in that case.
Please provide a source link.

Dear gene90,
I didn't believe it either, but is seems that red blood cells have been isolated from a T rex. Althoug the cells weren't viable, the authors were even able to invoke an immunological respons to proteins from the red blood cells. A scientific discussion on this topic can be found in: Earth, June 1997, p55-57 (Schweitzer, M. and Staedter, I., The real Jurassic Park). It is 'weird' stuff.
best wishes,
Peter

Don't get too excited, children. Quetzal has been there, done that, and no doubt includes a link to the t-shirt. See the previous thread:

Really, Peter, one would have thought a biologist of your standing and experience in publication could have tracked down the relevant literature!

dear Pamboli,
Thanks for your references, I hadn't seen them yet, I will study them. It really was weird stuff.

Should probably leave further discussion of this matter, to the previously existing topic Mr. P cited in message 5
( http://EvC Forum: Dino blood -->EvC Forum: Dino blood ).
Will close this one.
