What you need to learn is that everybody already knows that. That's why I said that belief in gods is non-logical (not necessarily illogical). Without evidence, logic has nothing to work on.
What you and creation scientists need to learn is that the Creator of the universe said to believe in Him by faith. So you aren't going to find any (objective) evidence. riVeRraT writes:
Silly boy, you don't understand faith at all, do you?
Funny thing that faith though, because all of science requires faith. riVeRraT writes:
The point was, "Why do theists have such a high opinion of logic anyway? It's just another tool." Do you have a problem with belief being non-logical?
But the instruction "manual" for a hammer should say "God forbid you hit yourself in the nuts with this tool".

That's of course because its consistency is something that is spiritually discerned, seen clearly only by believers.

So maybe it's God pushing the atheist agenda on you? That would be ironic. I am not offended by atheists because I think they are from God. There is plenty of evidence around of their agenda being pushed on me, this forum is a prime example. Incidentally, I've been trying to get hold of a copy of the atheist agenda. They won't send me one because I'm not a member of the club. I'd probably qualify but I'm not much of a joiner. Could we sneak a peek at your copy?

This page Is as close as I could get to the critics idea of any atheist agenda.
It can be summed up thus:quote:Of course I think that humans need guidance from a Higher Power than ourselves...but thats just the Phat Agenda. When I use a word, Humpty Dumpty said, in a rather scornful tone, it means just what I choose it to meannothing more nor less.

that link is better suited to a thread titled "sources you should only use as satire or not at all".
Organic life is nothing but a genetic mutation, an accident. Your lives are measured in years and decades. You wither and die. We are eternal, the pinnacle of evolution and existence. Before us, you are nothing. Your extinction is inevitable. We are the end of everything.

Its true that I am sloppy in checking my sources...I tend to read something and go with it. In fact, it took me awhile to read that pamphlet and realize that it was pro God and not anti Theist.
I disagree with most members of my church in that I think that our belief is illogical based on what humanity knows. I will argue, however, that humanity needs more than human wisdom in order to solve the greater problems that we collectively face---problems that will magnify in the coming years...global resource competition, wars and killing, addictions and compulsions, and taking ourselves beyond this planet. When I use a word, Humpty Dumpty said, in a rather scornful tone, it means just what I choose it to meannothing more nor less.

Whatever is the rationale for not allowing prayer at town meetings, there is no longer any point in defending that position based on the first amendment.
The majority of the Supreme Court has held that such prayers are traditional, and that even when the prayers invoke Jesus Christ and no other, the prayers do not have religious implication.Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. Thoreau: Civil Disobedience (1846) I have never met a man so ignorant that I couldn't learn something from him. Galileo Galilei If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightning. Frederick Douglass |

So the atheist agenda is, "Life here and now is wonderful and should be lived to the fullest." It sounds a bit like, "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." I don't see why riVeRraT would object to having that "pushed" on him.

And I will continue to point out that Christians, for all of their "communion" and secret decoder rings, don't seem to have greater wisdom. They often don't exhibit either the ability or the inclination to help solve our collective problems.
I will argue, however, that humanity needs more than human wisdom in order to solve the greater problems that we collectively face....

I don't see why riVeRraT would object to having that "pushed" on him. It does seem strange. But if your religion requires you to proselytize, then limitations that interfere with your practice of your religion. And if your religion is the majority view point, then having to make allowance for a minority can make your butt hurt.Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison.
