Re: Showcase Expectations
Showcase is not entertainment for me. I am deadly serious. I have presented an alternative to the Darwinian myth. Destroy it if you can. I don't think it is vulnerable which is is why I am here or at any other forum where I am allowed and there are darn few of them.
Bring it on and no excuses please. I won't buy them.

Re: Showcase Expectations
Excuses? Sorry, John, but I played that game with you last time you were here. I have really no interest in your hypothesis at this time. Sorry, but there it is.

Re: Showcase Expectations
That suits me just fine. Who is next failing to respond? Surely there must be someone. I can't imagine a Darwinian not willing to participate. There are Darwinians here aren't there?

Request to post in Creationist Theory
I'd like to ask a question in the thread Creationist Theory. I want to hear how Syamsu defines science.

Request
I'd like to have access to showcase to discuss things with syamsu in the Creationist theory. I've read and reread his OP, and think I am beginning to understand his position - and I think I'd like to try discussing it with him.

Re: Request
Hi Percy - just to let you know, I didn't have access granted for some reason (I could post as my Admin alter ego, but not as Mod), I looked at my privelages and I had 'normal' access. I changed it to 'All' myself so I hope that's alright!

Clarification about access to Showcase forum?
I thought the concept of the showcase was that it was very limited and that members would require access?
So what's this?
http://EvC Forum: The Great Pyramid and the Bible (modern pyramidology) -->EvC Forum: The Great Pyramid and the Bible (modern pyramidology)
Is it sensible to co-op members for the showcase? In particular posters with no history (and therefore no understanding or concept of how that zoo is suppose to work?)?
What happens if Ray doesn't like debating with the poster? Do they get kicked off their own thread?

Unweaving the Rainbow
Having just written the following and tried to post it, I was crudely reminded that I don't have posting permission in Davison's Showcase thread. I don't know if I am crossing a line by posting it here, but since what I want to say is not directly connected with the showcase topic anyway, and merely in defense of someone who cannot currently defend himself, I'll post it here. Ban me if you must, here it is.
John A. Davison writes:
Dawkins' fantasy about "the selfish gene" was pure snake oil as have been each of his subsequent books, each more bizarre than its predecessor.
Although I don't share your opinion of Dawkins' ideas and books, you are of course entitled to it. But I must protest when you go on to say this:
He is now "weaving the rainbow" for God's sake. What next?
Now, that's just not fair. For the innocent bystander I will explain that the title "Unweaving the Rainbow" - not "weaving the rainbow", by the way - is just a metaphor for the idea that science unravels mysteries and, in the process, diminishes their beauty. The title harks back to Keats accusing Newton of taking away the beauty of the rainbow by his scientific analysis of the phenomenon.
Somehow, Mr. Davison, I don't think you are an innocent bystander. I think you know full well what the title stands for. In view of everything you've written in these forums, your mock unfamiliarity with the precis of the title does not become you and is totally unconvincing. If you really want to confront Dawkins' ideas, or even the man himself, I suggest you adopt a different tone.
Edited by Parasomnium, : No reason given.

Uh, you could request access, like everyone else. No promises it'll be granted, but you could request it.
Your punishment: full membership privileges at Dembski's blog!

Thanks, but no. I've said all I wanted to say.
I think I'll go and harass Dembski now.

DaveScot's showcase posting permissions have been terminated
He's seems to exist here at only to flame on John A. Davison. Perhaps a full suspension is coming.
Also, I note that todays DaveScot posting is as being from an "Inactive" member. I presume it isn't the intent of Admin/Percy that "Inactive" members can post messages, so I guess there are still some dBoard version 2.0 fixes to be done.
I would strongly suggest that the non-admin members abstain from any discussion of the John A. Davison / DaveScot relationship. As I see it, no good will come of such.
