As outlined in Kings?
It is pretty certain that Assyria, and later Babylon did conquer much of the area between them and Egypt. Aslan is not a Tame Lion

I have read somewhere, and am sure it would not be very difficult for an interested party to affirm, that Assyria once held Egypt as far south as the first (or was it the second?) cataract of the Nile.

According to this map, a little below the first cataract (though I don't know if the map represents the height of the Assyrian Empire). **insert joke about A Cataract Too Far** Help scientific research in your spare time. ... accept both of the references to Jesus as authentic writings of the 1st century historian (with some later Christian insertions in 1 reference).

Its well known that Egypt was never again the same after Esarhaddon (sp?) and/or Assur-baniphal sacked Thebes.
I almost think its a trick question. Speaking of Egypt and Assyria, I bet somebody will ask why the Bible said Tirhaka(sp?)was king of Cush and not Egypt (in 1 place).Necho too. I think.

Which simply means that 20% of the scholars think that the Josephus mentions are totally fraud while 80% think they are only partially a fraud.
In addition, the Josephus comments, since he never indicates any personal knowledge, only show that there were people who believed the Gospels. The fact that people believe there was a person called Jesus that lived the life more or less as described in the Bible is not in doubt. The question is whether or not there actually was such a person. On that question the Josephus comments add nothing. Aslan is not a Tame Lion

Yeah, it's me.
Between the phone company and frickin' MSN network I have managed to get screwed up. The forum shows me signed in as doctrbill but I am unable to actually do anything as doctrbill. The site seems to recognized my computer, and so shows me logged in and offers me the option of logging out, but at the same time will not let me reply to messages. It shows me logged in as doctrbill and doctrbill_1 at the same time. I have created this, hopefully, temporary ID in order to keep up with the goings on here. anyhoo ... I found this map but am not enough of an Assyriologist to know whether or how it plays in the light of history, or what we take to be history. If any onlooking admin would care to assist me in my identity crisis, I would be happy to share more detail re: what I have done and how MSN has facilitated (or NOT) in the matter. I'd rather not have to recreate my online identity. Help anyone? db

Deleted all cookies but no good.
Here's how I got here. I recently acquired DSL and, because I am a novice to same, allowed the phone company, against my better prejudice, to arrange MSN as my ISP. Subsesquently, no longer having access to my old ISP and the email account connected to it, I modified my profile with a new email address in order to assure that I would be notified of replies to my posts. Simple. Yes? The automated server announced that I was being issued a new password and that an email had been sent advising me of said password. Almost immediately, as planned, I received notice of Ringo's response to my post (#32?). I clicked on the notice, and was taken to the site, where I saw that I was automatically logged in and at the same time being challenged for password. I checked the email account again and wondered that the new password had not arrived and now, two or three days later, has still not arrived. Was it perhaps sent to my old ISP? I may learn more day after tomorrow when I will be losing MSN and returning to my old provider from whom I have been separated for about six weeks. Hopefully a backlog of email (including that 'lost' letter) awaits the joyous renewal of our lost affiliation. Meanwhile I am but a shadow of my former glorious self. I recall that something similar happened to truthlover some time ago. What a agravating thing it is to lose one's pseudonym!

The current email attached to Doctrbill is a hotmail email. I will reset the email and if this doesn't work let me know and I will try something else.

Hello Asgara,
Thank you for your swift response.
AdminAsgara writes: I will reset the email ... Are you resetting to the prior adress, or to the hotmail address? The hotmail address is where the first reply notification was sent. Now they are coming to the email address associated with doctrbill_1. I have yet to receive the new password at either address. If your effort does not pan out, then we might just wait until I am re-established with my old provider. At that time, Friday evening if all goes according to plan, my old email address, the one I had used for the past ten years, should be functional. Thank you for your attention to the matter. db

Thank you dear,
I feel like myself again. Wondering what the heck went wrong before. Don't worry. I'll be changing the password momentarily.
