Re: Passionate love.
:ae:
Actually, I think He invented Hell for those who cause Him pain through their destruction of His children. (Stumbling blocks, who cause the little ones who love Me to sin). He throws them in. Those who betray Him, He does turn the other cheek, until they leave Him alone. But, entropy happens, and they fall into Hell on their own.
Remember, it's a pit. You can jump in, fall in, or be thrown in. Most, I understand, just fall it. Jehovah shrugs, and says, "Hey, I offered to help them avoid that sucker, but they said they wanted to take care of themselves."
Yeshua made this comment about His beloved Holy Spirit. "You can hurt me, and I will forgive you. But you blaspheme the Holy Spirit, and I'll see that you never get forgiven!"
But my main point is, the more you love, the deeper the pain you can feel. We cannot therefor imagine how Jehovah is hurt.
Stephen

Re: Passionate love.
This whole topic is frustrating but incomplete and ultimately unsatisfying to anybody.
Now I think I would like to point out that none of us are perfect. NOt that that is wrong just true. So for us to be using our imperfect logic to question a perfect Deity's mind and plan is just ludicrous.
The truth is, I don't really worry that much about hell. Why? Because i'm trusting in Jesus love and grace and his promise that I won't go there.
I'm not worried just praying.
God Bless

Re: Passionate love.
Smitty500,
My assurance of heaven comes from faith which comes from hearing. I am very diligent to be sure of my election and calling, pressing daily into the presence of God with my question, "How are we doing, Lord." When He tells me, like the song says, "you are my own." I get faith for heaven.
Once, unwilling to give up all that He was asking me to, to walk with Him, I asked Him to take me to Hell, so help me make a decision. He did! It was horrible, worse than any torture or inquisition I had ever heard of. And hopeless. The suffering just kept getting worse and worse, with no shock, or death, or unconsciousness to even hope to end it. So, I got serious.
Stephen

It's freewill because you make your own decision, you don't have to believe but you know there are consiquences. It is pretty simple

shyangel, please use the 'reply' button at the bottom of the message to which you're replying rather than use the general 'post reply' button at the bottom of the page. Doing so insures that others will be able to quickly link to the post being replied to. Doing otherwise can be confusing and is thus considered bad form.
I point this out because I wanted to respond to the same post you've quoted. I'll have to fish through the thread to find it. It's okay because I don't think you knew, but please in future observe this rule.

What about the people that have never heard of Christianity? Are they instantly condemned to hell never knowing what they did wrong?

God is very loving, kind and just and if someone has never heard of Christianity then He would understand because if someone hasn't heard about Jesus then they can't be held accountable.

Dear ShyAngel,
I want to go ahead than the last question.
What about the people that heard of Christianity, but don't agree with it?

I love how Christians act as if its perfectly acceptable for a creator to condemn his creations to hell for not believing that he exists. Why does it hurt him if some are not convinced that he exists? It's not like they know he exists and and still hate him or reject him.
If God came down to me right now and said "Hi", I'd say, "I see...you do exist. So...how are you doing?" Does it seem just for him to say, "Well, in order for you not to be condemned to an eternity of pain and suffering, you had to believe I existed with the little evidence you had before. This here conversation is too much evidence, and your belief now means very little. So off you go, I'll watch you from heavan as you burn in hell!"

Denesha,
It tells you clearly in the bible what happens if you have heard Gods word and chosen to ignore it, that is a completely different story compared to someone who has never heard.

Why does it hurt him if some are not convinced that he exists? I don't know the answer to that question, you will have to ask God yourself

yes, many people know he exists through the bible and still hate him and reject him, except those who have never heard of Jesus or read the bible.

Circular reasoning, you can't use the bible to prove that the bible is correct. Right now, like it or not, there is no evidence that suggests the existence of god.

I don't need to prove he exists the proof is already pretty evident

Really? I guess I didn't get the memo. Perhaps you could point out some of the evidence that proves gods existence.
