We do not debate by link. You are in violation of forum rules.

Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts
"God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness.
If your viewpoint has merits and facts to back it up why would you have to lie?

Re: What are the limits of science?
That sounds like my pants size! What an amazing coincidence.

Chance as a real force is a myth. It has no basis in reality and no place in scientific inquiry. For science and philosophy to continue to advance in knowledge, chance must be demythologized once and for all. ~RC Sproul

As the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, so the denial of God is the height of foolishness.

Re: What are the limits of science?
But nobody knows the Ultimate Question that the Ultimate Answer answers.
Back in the 90's, I read a newspaper article (which I still have filed somewhere in one of my boxes) which reported that a current attempt to determine the Hubble Constant came out with "42".

quote:
How does it follow that an event with no cause has no explanation? We can explain the Casimir effect and radioactivity, and we can at least describe quantum uncertainty. I guess you could claim that any event resulting from quantum uncertainty has no cause, but arguing against that is that even though quantum uncertainty has yet to give up all it's secrets we still know a great deal about it. Entire libraries of books describing various facets of something is the opposite of the absence of an explanation, even if we still have a long way to go.
If there is no way to explain how something can happen without a cause, then it has no explanation. Therefore, a causeless event has no explanation. For if there were an explanation, it could be explained.

Exactly. Unexplained things get assigned to the Unexplained category.
Making up explanations like 'God did it' is simply childish, not honest and silly.

What Does God Do?

But surely God has to do something.
As a believer, what would you imagine GOD to do? Create universes and ignore His beloved pond scum?

But surely God has to do something.
He could die. He could not exist. Either of those would be good.
I can think of others if you need.

Eschew obfuscation. Habituate elucidation.

Why does God have to do something?
You still are not addressing the differences between belief, knowledge and reality.
