Re: Elizabeth Warren?
At this time I am firmly in the Warren camp. She aligns well with my views and she is very accomplished and has solid policy plans.

Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts
"God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness.
If your viewpoint has merits and facts to back it up why would you have to lie?

I just donated a small amount of money to her campaign. First time I've ever donated money to a candidate's campaign.

Should this thread be renamed?
Any objection to renaming this thread, "The Campaign for the Democratic Presidential Nomination"?

That sounds like a good idea. Makes sense to me.

My thoughts exactly. It would be nice to see someone around the ages of Bill Clinton and Obama who can exude some youthful exuberance and connect with people of different age groups. On top of that, anyone in their 60's who has been in politics is probably going to have something sexist, mysogynistic, racist, or anachronistic in their past which can be dug up and paraded about. Biden's actions during the Anita Hill hearings is already troublesome. As Obama demonstrated (and Trump), the less political history you have the better.

I agree with everything you say here.

I think in situations where this does come up the candidate's only response should be replaying "Access Holywood tape" and a list of the women who accused Trump, and no other discussion.

In regards to both Biden and Sanders, I'm mostly worried about women and minorities having to put up with yet another old white man telling them what's good for them.
Neither candidate strikes me as someone who'd listen as someone tries to tell them what they don't want to hear.

The difference is that people who are going to vote for Trump don't care about those things. The real danger is dispassionate Democratic voters who don't show up to the polls. Hillary, for whatever reason, failed to get people to the polls because they weren't that excited to vote for her.

Years ago I worked a retail job part time. I was busy with some other tasks and failed to help out some customers to the extent they were expecting. They complained to my boss, and I then explained how I really did help them. He patiently explained to me that "perception is reality" when it comes to interacting with the public, and I have remembered that lesson ever since.
This is the problem that Biden and Sanders are going to run up against. They can say and even believe all the right things, but perception is reality. Sometimes it's not what you say, but who says it.

16 women have accused Trump of inappropriate behavior to sexual assault. Whether these claims are true is another question, but there have been accusations.
One example (the link has the other 15):
quote:
Jill Harth said she had dinner with Trump and her then-boyfriend, George Houraney, in 1992 when Trump allegedly tried to put his hands between her legs. She alleged he also tried to kiss her during a tour of his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida a month later when she and Houraney were there to celebrate solidifying a business contract.
Harth filed a lawsuit in 1997 alleging that Trump groped her and sexually harassed her, but she withdrew the suit, she says, as a condition of settling a separate financial dispute with him.

I don’t know who I will end up supporting come November 2020.
Right now I feel more affection for Pocahontas and Beto than the rest but all that can change.
I will put time in for Sen Warren’s local campaign. If she becomes non-viable I will switch to my then favorite, whoever that be.
In the end I will actively enthusiastically work for whoever is the Democrat nominee. I have my druthers but if that isn’t to be then so be whatever.
No matter who you support early please remember that at the end of the process the overriding goal of this next election is to get that narcissistic idiot out of the Oval Office.
It really doesn't matter which democrat you support. Pick one and go to work for them even if only 2-3 nights a month.
There will only be two choices. Don't dilute the strength of our opposition to Trump by going all googly eyes over some third party. We cannot allow the Trumpettes to slide to victory again.

Eschew obfuscation. Habituate elucidation.
