quote: Marc probably doesn’t know either. Expecting a coherent position from him, other than selfishness and ludicrously partisan politics is being optimistic.

Faith writes: Theology takes the entire book into account and you think a single quote should suffice. Just shows your ignorance. So far I've given you 13 quotes. But if there's a single message from Jesus's life and teachings it was about love - not just the love of his fellow disciples but neighbours, those of other religions, and even your enemies. Do as you would be done by. Read your bible Faith.Je suis Charlie. Je suis Ahmed. Je suis Juif. Je suis Parisien. I am Mancunian. I am Brum. I am London.I am Finland. Founder of California white power group, another member plead guilty in Charlottesville riot
Two key members of a white supremacist group based in Southern California pleaded guilty Friday to conspiring to riot for their roles in provoking violence at a deadly far-right rally in Charlottesville, Va., in 2017.... “These avowed white supremacists traveled to Charlottesville to incite and commit acts of violence,” Thomas Cullen, U.S. attorney for the Western District of Virginia, said in a statement. “Although the First Amendment protects an organization’s right to express abhorrent political views, it does not authorize senseless violence in furtherance of a political agenda.” Edited by JonF, : No reason given.

They can't and don't vote in state or Federal elections. If you want to argue otherwise, include evidence. The evidence is that Clinton won the popular vote. The only way that could be possible is if the millions of illegals hiding in the National Parks came out to vote while giving kids ebola in transgender bathrooms,Hell hath no fury like a white man scorned. Well, Chiroptera, you need to acknowledge all the efforts of the ISIS fighters hiding in empty Walmarts after Jade Helm 15, as well. And they gave kids hijabs as well as ebola.

Theology takes the entire book into account ... Uh, no, not even close. While what you describe should be the ideal for all theologies to strive for, none of them do. There are a multitude of theologies, not just one. Indeed, their name should be Legion since they are so many. Indeed, the actual case is that every individual creates his own personal theology, which turns out to be his own imperfect and flawed understanding (AKA "misunderstanding") of his teachers' and preachers' own misunderstandings of their teachers' and preachers' own misunderstandings of ... etc ad infinitum. As Thomas Paine pointed out, Revelation is Revelation only to that one person to which It is revealed. The moment he tells It to another person, It becomes hearsay. As as it (no longer "It") gets repeated from person to person, it becomes hearsay upon hearsay many times over. My opinion is that Thomas Paine was very over-optimistic. Ironically, it is reading the entire book and taking the entire book into account that has turned several Bible scholars into atheists. And trying to read the entire Bible in context has created many more atheists, including this one.
Just shows your ignorance. I see that you are still arguing with that person in the mirror. HINT: It's you.

Funny, over the last thirty years or so I've read hundreds of theology works and sermons that also discuss theology and find them largely in agreement with each other. I'm talking about Reformation Protestant theology though, I don't pay much attention to other theologies.

Oh please tell me what you think you know about Eisenhower. You might want to research actual history before you answer. I posted two links but only one escaped the Mad Censor. If you want to google it the other one was The Greatest Deportation in American History at history.com.
The Largest Mass Deportation in American History Wow, the Mad Censor has outdone himself. I'll leave the other one untouched, it seems to be uncensored despite all the crazed asterisks.

You don't understand how the quotes affect each other in correct theology.

quote: The article here but I doubt that you read it. And I certainly doubt that you would want anyone else to read it. As the article reveals the operation was founded on racism - evident in the name “Operation Wetback”.
Along the way, they used widespread racial stereotypes to justify their sometimes brutal treatment of immigrants. Inside the United States, anti-Mexican sentiment was pervasive, and harsh portrayals of Mexican immigrants as dirty, disease-bearing and irresponsible were the norm.
And the figure of 1,000,000 is not exactly reliable:
It’s not clear how many American citizens were swept up in Operation Wetback, but the United States later claimed that 1.3 million people total were deported. However, some historians dispute that claim. Though hundreds of thousands of people were ensnared, says historian Kelly Lytle Hernandez, the number of deportees was drastically lower than the United States reported”likely closer to 300,000.
And it didn’t work.
Historians have documented the behind-the-scenes wheeling and dealing that the United States participated in during Operation Wetback”deals that were not publicized at the time. Immigration officials threatened South Texas employers, some of whom had resorted to hiring armed guards to fend off Border Patrol officers, with stepped-up raids and offered them watered-down versions of the Bracero Program that let them get papers for their workers without committing to all of the program’s strenuous requirements. As a result, the number of immigrants in the Bracero Program grew as undocumented workers were deported.
Trump claimed that the illegal immigrants “never came back” but:
Trump’s statement isn’t accurate”despite the best efforts of the United States and Mexico during Operation Wetback, many workers simply returned to the United States again and again.
I haven’t reproduced the links supporting some of the claims, but you can find them in the article. The Chicago Tribune won’t let me read their site, so I can’t comment on that.

Faith writes: You don't understand how the quotes affect each other in correct theology. “Correct” theology eh? Read the book Faith. Jesus's message is one of universal love - loving neighbours, believers of other religions and enemies. It's repeated over and over. It's not a matter of theological interpretation or context, it's unavoidable. Je suis Charlie. Je suis Ahmed. Je suis Juif. Je suis Parisien. I am Mancunian. I am Brum. I am London.I am Finland. Bare links are against the rules. I want to know what you think Eisenhower did. I know about Eisenhower and immigrants.
Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts "God did it" is not an argument. It is an excuse for intellectual laziness. If your viewpoint has merits and facts to back it up why would you have to lie?

Theodoric writes: I want to know what you think Eisenhower did. I know about Eisenhower and immigrants. I think the Eisenhower mention was just an endorsement of anti-immigration policies. This isn't the first time the US has turned anti-immigration. Part of the history of US immigration policy is captured in New York City's lower east side where Irish immigrants were replaced by German immigrants were replaced by Italian immigrants were replaced by Jewish immigrants (I probably have the order wrong) were replaced by no one because US immigration policy changed. The upper floors of the tenements emptied and were boarded up by the 1940's, only the lowest floors still occupied by shopkeepers. All the previous generations had assimilated and done well enough to move to more upscale parts of the city. For me the key point is the role of immigration as a wellspring of new social and economic energy. For countries with low birthrates like ours immigration is important to maintaining population and thereby our competitiveness on the world stage. Without immigration we know what our future will be: Japan. --Percy
